- REGULAR MEETING
The Poland Township Board of Trustees held a regular meeting November 10, 2021 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road Poland, Ohio.
Mr. Ungaro calls the meeting to order.
Coach Holtzman leads the Pledge of Allegiance.
Mr. Scharville does roll call. Ungaro, Kempers, and Wollet are present.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve the minutes dated October 13, 2021, November 3, 2021 and November 8, 2021. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes - Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro motions to authorize payment for all outstanding bills for the Township. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro introduces Coach Holtzman to recognize Poland Little Bulldogs 12U DIV II State Champs with certificates.
- FINANCIAL REPORT:
- Mr. Canter is present to give September and year to date financial report.
- Expenditure: $302,089.49
- Revenue: $83,554.32
- Revenue for the year: $3,804,695.
- Expenditure for the year: $2,597,627.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve the purchase of the John Deer mini excavator not to exceed $49,000. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro announces there will be a special meeting on Wednesday 12/01/2021 to discuss rescue fund money.
PARK COMMITTEE:
Mr. Flicky is present to give monthly report.
RECYCLING:
Mr. Scharville is present and announces we will be recycling the Christmas trees this year.
ZONING DEPARTMENT:
Mr. Robert Monus is present to give monthly report.
Monthly report from October.
- 2 new structures, valuation- $387,810; fees collected-$2,725
- 12 additional improvements, valuation-$160,636; fees collected-$1,189
- 6 misc. permits issued for a total of -$30.00; 1-appeal, misc - $275; 0-amendments, 22 violations for the month; total valuation for the month- $548,446; total fees collected -$4,219.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve advertising for the Zoning Commission and Zoning Appeal Boards positions. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
ROAD DEPARTMENT:
Mr. Tom Monus is present to give monthly report.
Mr. Tom Monus is present to discuss the 60G mini excavator, the Road Department would like to buy.
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief Goodin is present to give monthly report.
Mr. Ungaro motions to approve the purchase of a new police cruiser, a Ford Explorer, from Fairway Ford not to exceed $35,000. Seconded by Mrs. Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet and Kempers. Motion carried.
Mr. Ungaro congratulates Mrs. Wollet and Mr. Kempers for officially winning the election for Poland Township Trustees.

PUBLIC COMMENT:
Mr. Hockenberry, Poland Schools superintendent, thanks the township for its partnership with the schools. He also mentions that Officer Patton is doing an amazing job.
