Regular Meeting
The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting October 14th, 2015 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins, Road, Ohio.
David Janofa leads in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Scharville calls roll call. Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet are present.
Administration
Ungaro motions to approve minutes dated September 9th, 2015. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Ungaro motions to authorize payment for all outstanding bills for the township. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes - Ungaro, Wollet & Lidle.
The financial report for September 2015 is not ready at this time.
David Janofa was present to speak of the Bond Issue in the November Elections.
Stephanie Dyer was present to speak about Eastgate, Yellow Creek Watershed. She discusses the water’s poor quality and the possible causes. She also shares some suggestions to help to improve quality and maintain safety.
Ungaro motions to approve Resolution #15-25: Nuisance Ordinance for the following addresses:
- 3666 Highland Ave
- 2761 Windpoint Trail
- 6150 Clingan Rd
Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet & Lidle.
Wollet motions to approve Resolution #15-26: Sign Grant. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Wollet, Ungaro & Lidle.
Wollet motions to approve the drop-off site for Toys for Tots. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Wollet, Ungaro & Lidle.
The Township meeting scheduled Wednesday, November 11th, 2015 was moved to Wednesday, November 18th, 2015 to respect Veteran’s Day.
Park Committee:
Mike Heher is not present to give monthly report for the park committee.
Lidle gave updates on the slide riding hill that is expected to be done by winter 2015.
Recycling Department
Jim Scharville gave the monthly report.
- October 17th 9 A.M. – 2 P.M., Electronics Drive at the Covelli Center.
Zoning Department
Bob Monus gave the Monthly Zoning Report for September 2015.
- Total Valuation - $431,685.00 & Total fees collected - $5,068.00.
Road Department
Tom Monus gave the monthly report.
- Sealed sidewalks
- Cleaned catch basins
- Took in scrap metal from Township Road Department and gave Paul Canter the money
The board talks about the residents’ concerns of the discoloration of the newly sealed sidewalks.
Ungaro motions to approve the Dan Koontz to get a raise in the amount of one dollar starting the next pay period. Seconded by Lidle. Voting Yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Police Department
Chief Goodin gave Monthly Stats for September 2015.
Public Comment
No one came forward to voice concerns for public comment.
