October 8, 2014—Regular Meeting
The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting October 8, 2014 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, Ohio.
Chairman Ungaro called the meeting to order at 6:00 P.M. Maxine opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. There were several residents present.

Administration
Chairman Ungaro motioned to approve minutes for Regular Meeting – September 10, 2014 seconded by Lidle. Voting Yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Chairman Ungaro motioned to approve all outstanding bills for the township, seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Chairman Ungaro motioned to approve a refund B.Y. Pools for permit 6165 in the amount of $201.00, seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Chairman Ungaro motion to approve Resolution 14-20: Nuisance Order, seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Chairman Ungaro announced Halloween Trick-or-Treating time is Saturday Nov 1 from 4-6PM.
Chairman Ungaro motioned to authorize the Marine Corp to use the administration building as a drop off site for the Toys for Tots, seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Chairman Ungaro motioned to approve that G&S repair the backhoe not exceed $4,000.00, seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Chairman Ungaro opened meeting for discussion in regards to the sidewalk connector & Mr. Lidle updated the meeting on the progress of the project.
Park CommitteeAdvisory Board Chairman, Mike Heher, updated the board as follows:
- $15,000 check for Road Department
- Eagle Scout project has been completed by Alex Halicki
- Working to install drainage along the center tree line at the soccer fields
- Water line project has been approved and Aqua Ohio is donating the inspections and there will be no taping fee.
Recycling Department
Administrator, Jim Scharville updated the board that the October meeting date for the host agreement has been cancelled.
Zoning Department
Zoning Inspector, Robert Monus, gave the Monthly Zoning Report for September 2014 (report on file).
Road Department
Road Superintendent, Tom Monus, reported that his department is getting the trucks & equipment ready for winter, raking leaves and mowing lawns. Updated the board that the sinkhole on Luther Lane will be addressed next week.
Administrator Scharville updated the board on the purchase of 300 more ton of salt on top of the 1,000 ton they already purchased for the winter at $105.73 per ton.
Police Department
Chief Goodin gave Monthly Stats for September 2014 (report on file). Chief requested approval for six portable radio and there will be a discount of $50.00 off.
Ungaro motioned to approve the purchase of six portable radios from Service One in the amount not to exceed $5,000.00, seconded by Lidle. Voting yes - Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Chairman Ungaro opened meeting for public comments and several residents spoke.
Chairman Ungaro motioned to adjourn and go into Executive Session at 7:03PM to consider the compensation for Republic Employees, Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle & Wollet.
Trustee Lidle motioned to end Executive Session and into regular session at 7:44 P.M., seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Wollet, Lidle & Ungaro.
Lidle moved to adjourn at 7:45 P.M. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting Yes- Ungaro, Lidle, Wollet
