SEPTEMBER 9TH, 2015
REGULAR MEETING
The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting September 9th, 2015 at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, Ohio.
Ungaro calls the meeting to order.
Mrs. Stacey leads in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Scharville calls roll call. Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet were present.
Ungaro motioned to approve the minutes dated August 12th, 2015 and August 26th, 2015. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.
Lidle motioned to authorize payment for all outstanding bills for the township. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.
Paul Canter was not present to give financial report for August.
Lidle motioned to recognize Saturday, September the 19th, as Poland Band Tag Day. Seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes - Lidle, Ungaro, and Wollet.
Ungaro motioned to approve Resolution 15-23; Nuisance Order. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet, and Lidle.
Ungaro motioned to approved Resolution 15-24; Rate for Budget Commission. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.
Ungaro motioned to approve Resolution 15-25; Home Savings & Loan Transfer. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Ungaro, Wollet, and Lidle.
Lidle motioned to approved payment for flu shot for Township Employees. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.
PARK COMMITTEE
Mike Heher gave monthly report. Discussed expanding the park. The board discussed this for several minutes.
Lidle motioned to approved up to $500 to the Park Board for the Boardwalk Project. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.
Lidle motions to approve YSU Ultimate Frisbee Club to use the park as long as they provide the appropriate insurances needed and can agree to repair any damages from the event. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle, Wollet, and Ungaro.
ZONING DEPARTMENT:
Bob Monus gave the monthly report. Total report for August was $431,685. Fees collected $3,215.
ROAD DEPARTMENT:
Tom Monus gave the monthly report.
Ungaro motions to approve the hire of Lou Mateo for the road department. Seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle, and Wollet.
POLICE DEPARTMENT:
Chief Goodin gives stats for the month of August.
PUBLIC COMMENT:
Barb Stacey – 4885 Arrel Rd – Explained her concern of the Yellow Creek and the need for a barrier to go around the creek to keep children out. Her son was in accident, he slipped and fell into the creek. Fecal matter was found in his wound from the water and he was sent to Akron’s Children Hospital.
Phil Pegg, Vienna Township Trustee - 1316 Youngstown Kingsville Rd – Talks about an injection well spill in Vienna. He explains what injections wells are and the different types.
At 7:24 pm, Lidle makes a motion to adjourn. Seconded by Wollet. Voting yes – Lidle and Wollet.
