The Poland Township Board of Trustees held their regular meeting June 11, 2014, at the Poland Township Government Center located at 3339 Dobbins Road, Poland, Ohio.
Chairman Ungaro called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. Sammy Hussein opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance. There were several residents present.
PUBLIC HEARING SUNCREST DRIVE LIGHTING DISTRICT
Resolution #14‐11 – Those in favor: Tom Plane ‐ 8695 Suncrest & Lisa Reardon ‐ 2501 Shepards Ridge
Those against: Rob Zampini – 8771 Suncrest , Hubert Fitzgerald ‐8742 Sun Crest,
Mike Stebelton ‐ 8784 Suncrest& Jim Hamrock ‐ 8758 Suncrest.
17 out of 24 households opposed ‐ No resolution was made, postponing until next meeting.
ADMINISTRATION
Lidle moved to adjourn from public special lighting district meeting and move to regular meeting, seconded by Ungaro. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle and Wollet…motioned carried.
Moved to regular meeting at 6:40p.m.
Ungaro moved to authorize all outstanding checking for the township, seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Ungaro, Lidle and Wollet… motioned carried.
Wollet read letter from Patrolman J.R Jackson to Sammy Hussein for his brave rescue of hurt woman in her garage on 5/12/14, Lidle presented him with a certificate for his bravery.
Lidle recognized the Boys Baseball, Girls Softball, Boys Tennis, Boys Track and Girls Track for their accomplishments this season.

seconded by Lidle. Voting Yes – Ungaro, Lidle and Wollet.
Lidle gave update on Cliffview & Camella Drive. July 1, 2014 there will be access to the rulings of the prosecutor.

Paul Canter gave the Financial Report for May, 2014 – Revenue: $119,756 Expenditures: $205,080.
Also mentioned putting in new policies such as: conflict of interest, public records request, vendor approval. He will also pass out prior year bank reconciliations at meetings for trustees to review and sign & give a list of all vendors and the checks to be cut in prior month.

Brought in stone to finish lining trails& building fundraising is going along well – no meeting yet
RECYCLING DEPARTMENT
Tire recycling drive, free to Mahoning County residents limit of 10 in Canfield.
ZONING DEPARTMENT
Zoning Inspector, Robert Monus, gave the Monthly Zoning Report for May 2014 ( report on file ).
ROAD DEPARTMENT
Road Superintendent , Tom Monus, reported that the Road Department has been patching & sweeping streets, mowing grass, pipe jobs & fixing catch basins.
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief Goodin gave April stats that were missed last meeting. ( report is on file).
Chief Goodin gave May stats ( report is on file).
Lidle opened the meeting for public comment.
Residents who commented were: Steve Stanislav & Judge Carol Robb from Columbiana County Municipal Court.

Ungaro moved to adjoun at 8:15 p.m., seconded by Lidle. Voting yes – Lidle, Ungaro , Wollet… motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:15p.m.
